I just want to say that I am having the time of my life right now and I am learning so much about how to live a more righteous spiritual life. I have felt the influence of the Lord as I have learned this difficult language. My brother Daniel is especially a great example to me about how to work hard to learn a language and then let the Lord do the rest.
These last two weeks Sister So was baptized and confirmed. Both experiences were so powerful and the it really just helped me know that the Lord does send His spirit to people that are ready to feel it. I am so grateful that I was able to participate in her experience. She now has such a desire to learn more. She calls elder Skousen and I her "two sons". She also calls us her "mentors" in the gospel because she want's to learn so much and knows that we can help her. WHAT A HUMBLE LADY! Love her to death.
We sadly had to stop teaching the family that we were teaching this week. It was just continue to meet with them when they were super willing to keep our commitments. I know that we will be lifelong friends though and I know that they will forever remember my companion and I. These kinds of things are always hard, but seriously, having a happy upbeat, spiritually in tune companion who could keep us moving forward. It's was awesome!
I also caught my fifth rat since I have been in Sacheon(almost 4 transfers now). They seem to just keep on getting in our ceiling and we really have no idea how hehe. It's always an adventure.
We are now just really trying to find people because we don't have anyone right now that is progressing quite yet! I would appreciate your prayers.
Something that I read in the book of Mormon really stuck out to me this week. It is interesting to see in 3 Nephi that Nephi is performing miracles that are very similar of the exact same as the one's Jesus was performing in Israel. Raising someone from the dead, casting out devils, healing blind and lame people. Of course, it makes it clear that Nephi is doing these miracles in the name of Jesus Christ. But one verse stuck out to me because it explains what we have to be striving to do in order to perform and see such miracles like Nephi and Jesus were doing.
"...for he truly did many miracles in the name of Jesus; and there was not any man who could do a miracle in the name of Jesus save he were cleansed every whit from his iniquity." I have been thinking about I can cleanse every whit from my iniquity. Let us all think about what miracles we want or need in our lives and then cleanse ourselves so we can sees those miracles!
I love you ALL
Elder Meeks
