I do not have a lot of time today so this will be short.
Monday
We had pday which was fun. That night we have family night. A bunch of people came and we got to play some games and I got to play some of the brothers in ping pong. A non-member came and I sadly had to beat him in ping pong too. I hope he still wants to meet with us later;)
Tuesday
We wanted to do some english class advertisement so we made a poster with a english game on it. We wanted to go to an area where non of us had been before. It turned out to be a city where there are not a lot of people and so it was kinda a bust. The whole day was basically traveling there and back.
Wednesday
We had interviews. Our president is awesome and I got to talk to him for a while. He gave me some really good ideas that we can implement for our branch to improve it's missionary efforts. We are really focusing on the branch and how we can help and improve it.
Thursday
We had our english service project where we taught some old people english. I am becoming more and more sure that old people cannot learn another language very well haha. They are fun tho and they like having foreigners to teach. They love talking pictures with us which is fun. We also got to do our english connect class. Not many people came, but it was still fun. Teaching english is a really hard thing to do and it has taken a lot of getting used to for sure.
Friday
We got to meet with a less active family and share a message about the restoration and how it is so important in our day. The dad really is feeling and we think he is going to start taking some steps to become a better member. We want to help him and his family fully experience the blessings of this gospel.
Saturday
We played soccer with some other areas and our members. Super super fun. It is a good way for the people who need friends in the church to make friends and feel excepted. Any type of missionary work counts! We also got to do our other english class and only one guy came. Sad!
Sunday
It was super fun because we got to do choir practice and I got to see and talk to a lot of people and got to meet some people from other areas. Music really does have a spiritual power! We got to do our weekly planning session as well which was great!
Anyway, my thought I wanted to share is the power of getting the book of mormon in the hands of everyone. A great friend told me that when we get the book of mormon in the hands of people, we are giving them the one book that will help them the most to gain salvation and everlasting life. So cool! I love giving the book of mormon to people. Even if they never call back or respond, they still have the chance now.
Love you all and have a great week,
Elder Meeks
